Who We Are

Catholic Charities was founded in 1920 with the mission of providing compassionate and quality social services to those in need. In our 100+ years of operation, we have prioritized, adapted, and created several unique programs and services to address the unmet needs of people impacted most by hardship. We remove barriers to make our vital services more accessible to families and individuals living in communities across the ten counties of southeastern Wisconsin.

What We Do

Catholic Charities recognizes the growing need for support among individuals struggling with Hoarding Disorder in southeastern Wisconsin. Our Hoarding Intervention and Treatment Program is designed to transform the way communities respond to hoarding by offering compassionate, comprehensive, and effective support.

We’ve developed a holistic model of care based on years of hands-on experience. This approach is grounded in a carefully crafted logic model that guides our work with individuals impacted by Hoarding Disorder. By coordinating services and maximizing available resources, our program not only reduces hoarding behaviors but also improves the quality of life for affected households—while remaining cost-effective in the long term.

Our team-based approach is central to our success. Each client is assigned a Case Manager, Home Coach, and Therapist who conduct an in-depth, in-home assessment. This evaluation includes screening for immediate safety concerns and a thorough analysis of six key dimensions impacted by hoarding: personal safety, physical health, social health, financial wellbeing, living environment, and mental health.

From there, our team collaborates with the individual or family to develop targeted action plans for each area—laying the foundation for sustainable change and a path toward healing.
