Description


With over a hundred years of dedicated service to our neighbors in need, Catholic Charities with the crucial help of volunteers, offer community-based support, education, and access to resources for refugee and immigrant families in Milwaukee. Catholic Charities' Child FIS Program aims to teach English as well as prepare individuals for their citizenship test.




As a Volunteer, You Will:

  • Create a nurturing and fun environment for children while also helping set up, serve food and clean up of the event

It's a great even to be a part of! Our annual picnic encourages community and is one clients look forward to!




Expected Availability and Commitment:

  • Occurs at Wilson Park, Picnic 1, 1601 W Howard Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53221

  • Annual opportunity



Required Training:

You will complete required forms for a background check and sign Catholic Charities' client confidentiality agreement as well as complete the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's Safe Environment training course.


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be 16 years old to volunteer with a parent or legal guardian or 18 years old to volunteer alone. 


Helpful Skills for the Role:

  • Enjoys playing with children!

  • Serving food

  • Set up & take down
