Volunteer: Annual Adoption Picnic


With over a hundred years of dedicated service to our neighbors in need, Catholic Charities with the crucial help of volunteers, offer community-based support, education, and access to resources for pregnant and parenting individuals and families. Catholic Charities' Child Welfare Program aims to increase healthy birth outcomes among at-risk, low-income families by helping individuals develop tools for good decision making. 




As a Volunteer, You Will:

Create a nurturing and fun environment for children while also helping set up, serve food and clean up of the event

It's a great even to be a part of! Our annual picnic encourages community and is one clients look forward to!




Expected Availability and Commitment:

Occurs at Greenfield Park, Shelter 3A (Located: off of S. 124th and W. Lincoln Ave.).

Annual opportunity



Required Training:

You will complete required forms for a background check and sign Catholic Charities' client confidentiality agreement as well as complete the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's Safe Environment training course.


Required Qualifications:

Must be 16 years old to volunteer with a parent or legal guardian or 18 years old to volunteer alone. 


Helpful Skills for the Role:

Enjoys playing with children!

Serving food

Set up & take down

It's a wonderful opportunity to engage with kids, play, and enable parents to receive support while they build community with other families who have adopted or are seeking to adopt.




Expected Availability and Commitment:

Occurs at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish (Located: 3722 S 58th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53220).

Adoption Support Groups occur every third Tuesday of each month. Each shift is 2 hours from 6:00 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Can be a one-time opportunity or recurring opportunity.



Required Training:

You will complete required forms for a background check and sign Catholic Charities' client confidentiality agreement as well as complete the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's Safe Environment training course.
