Volunteer: Share your musical talents with older adults and adults with disabilities!

Many families in our community who care for older adults or adults with disabilities face significant challenges in balancing employment and everyday responsibilities. The demands of full-time caregiving — often without access to affordable, dependable support — can quickly become overwhelming, placing emotional, financial, and physical strain on caregivers.

But together, we can help change that.

By providing a safe, supportive environment at Catholic Charities’ Adult Day Center for older adults and adults with disabilities, we offer caregivers the reliable daytime care they need for their loved ones in order to maintain employment, manage daily responsibilities, and care for themselves. With your support, families can find balance, reduce stress, and ensure their loved ones are engaged, well-cared for, and part of a vibrant community during the day.

As a music volunteer, you can make a meaningful impact by helping older adults and adults with disabilities connect with cherished memories and experience joy through the power of music. By performing music, you’ll support their emotional well-being, stimulate memory, and create meaningful moments of connection. To get started, simply click RESPOND at the top of the page and SIGN UP. Within 24 business hours, we’ll email you to schedule a 20-minute virtual information session. After you complete the required forms, we’ll arrange a meet-and-greet with Annette, our Adult Day Center Program Director. You’ll have the chance to tour the center and meet our members — and then you’ll be ready to start volunteering. It’s that simple!

Without access to reliable daytime care, caregivers will continue to face overwhelming challenges, causing burnout and increased stress. Meanwhile, their loved ones may miss out on the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities, build social connections, and receive the support they need to thrive.

But there is another way — you can help your neighbors in need. We believe that at every age and ability, individuals deserve the support and care necessary to maintain their independence and well-being. By performing music for our members, you’re not only providing vital relief to caregivers — you’re also empowering our members to preserve the independence they value, stay engaged through music, and continue building meaningful connections within their community.

Maybe you, or someone in your family, know firsthand the challenges of caring for an ageing parent or a loved one with a disability. Perhaps as a musician, singer, dancer, or simply someone who values music and connection, you understand the importance of staying active and engaged at every stage of life. Whatever your background, you have a unique opportunity to use your skills and compassion to enrich the lives of others. We’d love for you to join us!

Click RESPOND at the top of the page and SIGN UP to complete our application and join our mission today! We’re excited to have you!

Volunteer: Tutor Refugees and Immigrants in English with a Friend! (Partner Opportunity)

Many refugees and immigrants in our community face barriers to accessing traditional English language learning classes such as limited transportation and childcare options. As a result, they struggle to communicate, navigate their daily lives, and build meaningful connections, further isolating them from their new community.

But together, we can help change that. By providing one-on-one tutoring within their homes, you and a friend can help break down these barriers and offer refugees and immigrants the support they need to learn English in a comfortable, supportive environment. With you and your friend’s help, these individuals can gain the skills they need to thrive, better integrate into their new community, and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.

As a volunteer tutor, you and a friend can make a direct impact by helping refugees and immigrants improve their English language skills at home. Simply click RESPOND at the top of the page and SIGN UP, and within 24 business-day hours, we'll send you both a link to our next information session. Once you and your volunteer partner complete all the necessary forms, we'll provide training to equip you with the tools and resources to succeed. You'll then be matched with a refugee or immigrant learner, ready to start their language journey with your support. It’s that simple.

Without the opportunity to learn English, refugees and immigrants will continue to face challenges in everyday life. They may struggle to access essential services, find jobs, and integrate into their new environment. This isolation can lead to frustration, missed opportunities, and an inability to fully participate in their community.

But there is another way — you and your partner can help your new neighbor in need. We believe that every refugee and immigrant, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to learn, grow, and contribute. They arrive with rich cultural knowledge, skills, resilience, and experiences that strengthen our communities. By offering tutoring in a comfortable, familiar setting, we not only help them overcome language and systemic barriers — we also affirm and build upon the community cultural wealth they already possess. With the tools to communicate and connect, they can find work, build relationships, and create a stable, fulfilling life in their new home — while enriching ours in return.

Maybe you, or someone in your family know firsthand what it’s like to start over in a new country, learning a new language and adjusting to a new culture. Perhaps as a retired teacher, you already know the power of education and encouragement. Or maybe you simply care deeply about helping others and want to make a meaningful difference in your community. You have a unique opportunity to combine your skills and experience to support others on a similar path. Training sessions for new volunteers are starting soon.

Volunteer: Tutor Refugees and Immigrants for Citizenship

Many refugees and immigrants in our community face significant barriers to preparing for the U.S. citizenship process — including limited transportation, childcare, and access to traditional classes. These challenges can prevent them from understanding the naturalization process, preparing for the citizenship interview, and building the confidence they need to pass the exam.

But together, we can help change that.

By providing one-on-one tutoring within their homes, we can break down these barriers and offer refugees and immigrants the support they need to be prepared for the U.S. citizenship test in a comfortable, supportive environment. With your help, they can gain not only the skills and information necessary to pass the test but also a deeper understanding of their rights, responsibilities, and place in their new community.

As a volunteer tutor, you can make a direct impact helping refugees and immigrants prepare for the U.S. citizenship test. Simply click RESPOND at the top of the page and SIGN UP, and within 24 business-day hours, we'll send you a link to our next information session. Once you've completed all the necessary forms, we'll provide training to equip you with the tools and resources to succeed. You'll then be matched with a refugee or immigrant learner, ready for your support. It’s that simple.

Without adequate support to prepare for the U.S. citizenship test, refugees and immigrants will continue to face significant challenges to become American citizens. They may struggle to access essential services, secure stable employment, and navigate their new environment. This lack of integration can lead to isolation, missed opportunities, and a diminished ability to fully participate in and contribute to their communities.

But there is another way — you can help your new neighbor in need. With the tools to communicate and connect, they can become citizens, find work, build relationships, and create a stable, fulfilling life in their new home — while enriching ours in return.

Volunteer: Southern Border Project Translator (Virtual Opportunity)

Many refugees and immigrants in our community face significant barriers to accessing clear, reliable information about the U.S. immigration system and how to seek asylum. Without trustworthy guidance, they may find it difficult to understand their legal rights, gather required documentation, avoid fraudulent services, and navigate a complicated process that impacts their future — all while adjusting to life in a new country. These challenges can lead to uncertainty, fear, and a deepened sense of isolation.

But together, we can help change that.

By translating essential educational scripts into families’ native languages, you can help break down these barriers and ensure refugee and immigrant individuals and families receive the critical information they need to understand their rights, pursue legal protection, and move forward with hope and confidence. With your help, more people will be empowered to seek asylum safely and knowledgeably — creating the foundation for a more stable, secure future.

As a volunteer translator, you can make a direct impact by helping refugees and immigrants access vital information about immigration and seeking asylum in a language they understand. Simply click RESPOND at the top of the page and SIGN UP, and within 24 business-day hours, we'll send you a link to our recorded information session. After completing our required forms, you'll receive personalized virtual training on how to record voice over videos. Your contributions will help families feel more informed, empowered, and supported as they navigate life in a new country. It’s that simple.

Without access to accurate immigration information in their native language, refugees and asylum seekers may miss critical deadlines, misunderstand legal procedures, or fall victim to misinformation and predatory practices. They may not know how to access trusted legal help, how to prepare for court, or what protections they are eligible for under U.S. law.

But there is another way — you can help your new neighbor in need. We believe that every refugee and immigrant, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to learn, grow, and contribute. They arrive with rich cultural knowledge, skills, resilience, and experiences that strengthen our communities. By offering parental educational videos in their own language, we not only help them navigate a complex system — we also affirm their dignity and value and build upon the community cultural wealth they already possess. With your help, these translated materials become a private, safe way for individuals to learn about their rights and take the next steps in their journey.

Maybe you, or someone in your family know firsthand what it’s like to start over in a new country, learning a new language and adjusting to a new culture. Or maybe you simply care deeply about helping others and want to make a meaningful difference in your community by using your language abilities. You have a unique opportunity to combine your skills and experience to support others. Training sessions for new volunteers are starting soon.

Volunteer: Tutor English to Refugees and Immigrants

Many refugees and immigrants in our community face barriers to accessing traditional English language learning classes such as limited transportation and childcare options. As a result, they struggle to communicate, navigate their daily lives, and build meaningful connections, further isolating them from their new community.

But together, we can help change that. By providing one-on-one tutoring within their homes, we can break down these barriers and offer refugees and immigrants the support they need to learn English in a comfortable, supportive environment. With your help, these individuals can gain the skills they need to thrive, better integrate into their new community, and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.

As a volunteer tutor, you can make a direct impact by helping refugees and immigrants improve their English language skills at home. Simply click RESPOND at the top of the page and SIGN UP, and within 24 business-day hours, we'll send you a link to our next information session. Once you've completed all the necessary forms, we'll provide training to equip you with the tools and resources to succeed.

But there is another way — you can help your new neighbor in need. We believe that every refugee and immigrant, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to learn, grow, and contribute. They arrive with rich cultural knowledge, skills, resilience, and experiences that strengthen our communities.

Volunteer: Translate Parental Educational Videos for Immigrants and Refugees (Virtual Opportunity)

Many refugee and immigrant parents in our community face significant barriers to accessing reliable information about immigration, healthcare, and American culture in their native language as they begin to learn English. As a result, they often struggle to communicate their children’s medical needs, navigate the education system, protect themselves from scams that target vulnerable populations, and so much more — challenges that can deepen their sense of isolation and hinder successful integration into their new community.

But together, we can help change that.

By translating important educational videos into families’ native languages, we can break down language barriers and ensure refugee and immigrant parents have access to the critical information they need to support their children and protect their families. With your help, parents can feel more confident navigating healthcare, schools, and daily life — empowering them to integrate more fully into their new community and build a stronger future for themselves and their children.

As a volunteer translator, you can make a direct impact by helping refugee and immigrant parents access vital information in a language they understand. Simply click RESPOND at the top of the page and SIGN UP, and within 24 business-day hours, we'll send you a link to our recorded information session. After completing our required forms, you'll receive personalized virtual training on how to record educational videos covering topics such as healthcare, education, and community and personal safety. Your contributions will help families feel more informed, empowered, and supported as they navigate life in a new country. It’s that simple.

Without access to accurate information in their native language, refugee and immigrant parents will continue to face significant challenges in daily life. They may struggle to understand important vaccination information, how to file their taxes, protect their family against human trafficking, or even how to reach out if they’re struggling with their mental health.

But there is another way — you can help your new neighbor in need. We believe that every refugee and immigrant, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to learn, grow, and contribute. They arrive with rich cultural knowledge, skills, resilience, and experiences that strengthen our communities. By offering parental educational videos in their own language, we not only help them overcome language and systemic barriers — we also affirm and build upon the community cultural wealth they already possess. With your help, these videos enable them to access critical information within the comfort and privacy of their own homes.

Program: Refugee and Immigration Services
